So, as the title suggests, what are the best headphones for under $300 USD.

Here are some headphones I've been looking at:

****Also I have this webcam http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/hd-pro-webcam-c920?crid=34         does it have good enough audio for youtube videos?     or should i buy a real microphone or use a headset microphone? *******

Any feedback is welcomed! :)

Please, refer to the pinned recommendation thread at the top of this sub-forum. There are plenty of solid choices.

If you are serious about getting into YouTube, you will want something better than a headset microphone.

thanks, look pretty nice, ill look into them more later. thanks for the help c:

I also have these and they are the best I have ever used. They are close the 598's with a high-quality mic attached. (the mic also mutes when you flip it up.)

Plus you can mod them for more bass.

Yeah, usually everyone's all like, "omg the M40X's are so overrated"

I like them though, quite a durable set of headphones for the price.

My friend has the m50x and yes they are waaaaaay overhyped. I don't get it.

Are you looking for headphones or headsets (headphones + mic)?

You'll get much better sound quality if you look for just headphones and buy modmic or other external mic solution.

Personally I'm using Sennheiser Momentum and adding modmic would go over the budget, but I really love them. If you prefer open headphones, HD598 is a great choice and adding a modmic will get you to around $200. It's a lot similar to gaming zero, but I'd say modmic will have better quality.

I think that the SENNHEISERHD 598 SPECIAL EDITION is a very good headphone. I might buy it soon. Any feedback? Are they good?

Yes, they are a good headset if you like the Sennheiser sound. I didn't care for the build quality or the sound when compared to some more expensive models, but at the price they are quite nice. The best way for you to know if they are right for you is to go to the store and actually listen to them. The SE model is just a different color than the regular HD598s.

Get the hd558 instead. Basically the same as 598, but cheaper.

If a pair of headphones has a mic on it/in it it's not a headphone its a headset. Just to make this clear.

I would recommend the AKG K612/k702 vs audio technica AD900x/1000x and then add a mic to them if you need one.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Feel free to pm me if you have a question for me or quote me. If you want to hear what I have to say about something just tag me.

I have the AD500Xs, they're very open and I've been loving them since I got them. I'd recommend that series of headphones too. Hopefully the cord isn't the same as the 500Xs though.

Monitors: MSI Optix G24C 144hz | LG 24" 1080p

Mouse & Keyboard: Logitech G403 & G413 Carbon

HD600. Don't even think about M40x or A50s. If you can stretch your budget get this http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-Open-Back-Professional-Headphone/dp/B00004SY4H. Spend the $150 code on an O2 amp and a Modmic.
