Microsoft 10 install

Bliznipa

So I posted this in the other forum a couple days ago but I'm going to do it again in here because I still don't really understand.

So I'm.about to install w10 on my brand new pc, and have watched many videos about how to do it, but one thing I don't understand is the partitioning screen. I've seen different methods of doing it and I guess I just don't understand how to go about it or what exactly is happening. I'm going to be installing w10 via DVD thru my DVD drive and saving it to a 480 gb ssd. This ssd will be my only saving device currently.

I've done some research here but can't really find what I'm looking for. If someone could explain the partitioning screen (deleting, new partition, formatting, system reserved, unallocated space etc) that would be greatly appreciated. I've heard different things about deleting system reserve etc.

I don't want to screw up my brand new pc!

Any help is thoroughly appreciated!!!

okay I would recommend deleting all partitions, if any, and telling it to install in the unallocated space, it will create system res and such for its self.

I am a paid professional, but only when I am at work...and getting paid.

When you get to the screen, start by deleting any partitions that are on your ssd. Once all the partitions are deleted, you should see your ssd has an "Unallocated" partition. Select this, then click "Next."

My native language is C++

No offense at OP. ^_^

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

Only yours, you don't shitpost on the same level that we can, mainly because this thread is finally dead and should be locked.

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.

If you're only running a single hard drive you should split it into 2 partitions, one for the OS and one for long term storage, that way if you ever need to reinstall your OS you won't lose your 2nd partition

Also I tend to use a Gparted Live USB, but formatting/partitioning can be done with the windows installing.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
