get her this:

http://computers.woot.com/offers/hp-envy-750-intel-i5-gtx745-4gb-desktop-2

tell her to hook it up to a big screen tv and keep the balance of the $600 LOL

all kidding aside, that's probably a decent build for what she gonna do with it, if its for your moms friend , you could go for a itx build to make it more compact and more appealing to the eye, and an 240 gb ssd instead of a hd because what would she do with the extra space?

if i post a link to amazon try to use the LTT affiliate code to help the channel http://www.amazon.com/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&linkCode=ur2&tag=linustechtips-20

it will help in general computational tasks...

however no it is not necessary... but in the future it will help the sysem last longer before it becomes outdated

You don't NEED aftermarket cooling if you're not exactly overclocking.

What I mean is, CPUs always include stock HSFs when you buy them.

So you don't need to buy aftermarket solutions for cooling the CPU.

It's nice to have it, but not necessary.
