chipset fan

i have a 40 mm fan on my motherboard chipset ( dx58so ) and i was wondering if i can leave it without a fan because its very noisy.

i changed the fan a while ago but even the new one is crazy loud and i can hear it even when i'm wearing my headset.

the system temp that is monitored by hwmonitor never excedes 65 degres celcius. is it safe to leave it without a fan considering that ill never overclok ?

( don't give an answer like : if its a fan its worth letting it on )

Reference photos of the mobo you mentioned  dx58so  show the chipset with no fan, so i cant imagine there would be too much of a problem with removing it
