My first pc

Nice build for the price! What's the 2 sets of RAM for? 8GB should be fine. Maybe, try to find an Intel chip for around that price

You can get 16 Gigs of Ram for less than those two sticks of 4 and 8:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f31600c11d16gnt

(That kit is 57.99, the two Kingston are 58.90)

i7 4790k | MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition | G.Skill Ripjaws X 16 GB | Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB | 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB | MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr V | Fractal Design R4 | EVGA 650W

A gaming PC for your budget: $800 - $1000 - $1500 - $1800 - $2600 - $9001

Get an intel i5 4690k or the 6600k because AMD isn't great unless their ZEN series is amazing.

It looks nice. Although you'll want a different motherboard for sure. I also don't get why not go with 16 gigabytes of memory for the cost of 12 gigabytes, and I would also step the PSU up to probably 620 watts if you plan to overclock that 8320.

Why not go Intel? Skylake looks like a real affordable option.

No, this has nothing to do with NVIDIA. He's saying that you should you go with Intel instead of AMD. NVIDIA don't make CPUs.

Hey Thatoneguyyouknow, I had a look at your part list I for the most part like it but I edited just to see what you would think.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/JJQgD3

I whipped up a new CPU that has very good ratings and has four cores.

I got a new CPU cooler for you because this one has great value and ratings.

I removed that extra 4 gigabytes of ram because I suspect you wont need more, 8 gbs is totally fine.

I changed the case for incompatibilities and it will look genuinely nice.

Finally I tried to squeeze a bit more money out by tightening up the power supply wattage. Unfortunately, this isn't future proof and adding new parts/over clocking will be a hurdle.

I'd really recommend to you that you don't be too hasty and jump right at the <600 $ mark rather than saving up a tad bit more to get an SSD and a HDD together. this is more future proof and you'll enjoy the boot speed, trust me. Otherwise, if your hell bent on sticking to the <600 $ mark than this could be a satisfying build.

Has nothing to do with Nvidia? It's cheaper, yes, because you're getting old tech. They haven't refreshed their chips in a long time, and Intel is just the stronger choice.

It's not always cheaper. The i5 beats the 8320 in most things.
