Need Budget GPU for Quad Display

I'm looking for a graphics card that can support up to 4 individual screens (not merged) under $100 OR 2 dual display cards.

It is NOT for gaming purposes so it doesn't have to be super high end, I will be using it for trading purposes only.

Also, will my choice of CPU determine whether I can use 4 screens or not? If so, then which CPU should I use? (Again, low budget)

Thanks!

What you mostly need is the card itself to have 4 ports. Your CPU won't determine anything really, but keep in mind that even without gaming in the picture those 4 screens would still be fed with information all at the same time so that would take a toll on a weak graphics card, depending on the resolutions.

2 GPUs would also be a viable solution, as the cards with 4 outputs usually are higher end and more expensive. So you could definitely do 2x2 too.

So I guess I'd best stick to 2 GPUs instead of one, I'll be on the look out for those.

Also, in my search for cards I saw a lot of GPUs with 4 even 5 ports but they only supported 2-3 individual monitors at a time. Ports aren't the only thing then, huh?

Thanks!

I guess so. Tbh I'm not sure about that and I'd need to research before I give you an answer. Looking into used cards is also a good idea like mentioned above though.

Under $100 is going to be tough. A GTX 950 can support up to 4 displays, but they are a bit more than the $100 price point you set. The 750ti also supports 4 displays but is also above your price point. On the AMD side the R7 250x should suite your needs, it is less than $100 (at least from newegg) and has support for 4 monitors. The 950 will have a bit more horsepower for larger displays but the R7 is cheaper overall.

I ran 4 monitors off of a single HD 7950 a few years ago. I played games on three of them and watched shows on the fourth one. Pretty sure you can do that with weaker cards.

That'll be well over my budget lol

But thanks for the response

I came across the R7 series too

Sadly, the R7 250x has 4 ports but only supports a maximum of 3 outputs :/

You sure? The newegg page says it supports 4 under the specs collum. I've never used a medium to high end AMD card so I wouldn't know 100%.

Another thing you could do is sometimes you can get away with using integrated graphics in combination with a GPU. Even if the GPU only supports 3 displays you can hook a fourth up to the on board video.

I check all of the models on the sapphire site, they show all of them outputting only 3 displays

As for the integrated graphics, I've kept that as my last option.

I also found this card called the Galaxy GeForce MDT GT 520, it's super cheap too. Only problem though is that I can't find it's spec sheet so I know it'll output 4 different displays and not just merge all of them or if a software tweak could help me solve that myself
