with gpu accelerated rendering a good cpu is less important but yes you should still get a decent one. and for 500 i would say an r9 fury

what do you need the system for other than gaming and streaming? and i would suggest a i7 5820k if you do need that much cpu power

Some light video editing as well as maybe some rendering.

then i would recommend a i7 6700k instead of that and if you really need it then an i7 5820k unless you can get one for a much cheaper price than a 5820k

That´d put him out of budget for his gpu. @Duh_tech , what exactly is your current setup?

I mean his setup and whole. Like psu and ram and such. If he´s using some no name brand 500 watt psu, I´m not recommending him to get any gpu until it´s upgraded. And if he´s using a G3258, then he´s on haswell. The 3960x isn´t haswell, therefore he won´t be able to use it with his current motherboard, thus he´d need to shell out even more $ for a compatible board, lowering his available $ for a gpu. Same if he tried to get a 6700k, or a 5820k.

he didnt say his budget for the entire thing is $500 he just said for the gpu and if he is considering the 3960x that means he will probably change motherboards also

But that´d technically be a platform downgrade going from 87/97 to 77...

I just want to throw this out there...if you're not a Twitch partner, you can't stream at 1080p 60fps anyway....so...I would recommend you not worry so much about that for the moment. Just try to find a card that will have a good sweet spot for you, and worry about upgrades later. If you're not partnered, I want to say the highest quality you can stream at is 720p at 30fps. I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that's the max.

Also, side note: If you're not partnered, don't even stream that high. It will have a serious impact on your viewers. I usually stream at 480ish-p, because if you go too high, your viewers will have buffering issues. (And before anyone tries to say it must be my internet, I have a gigabit fiber optic line.)

Just trust me here, you don't want to go full out, balls-to-the-wall on your quality, until you get that partnership. Then, you can go buy a couple 980Ti's in SLI and game at 4K if you want. Until then, keep it reasonable, or you won't get any viewers.
