More (Different windows 10 issues)

Go to solution Solved by PalladianPD,

1. Ensure that your USB drive is correctly formatted. Go back to the MS website and download the iso instead of using the create bootable USB drive option. Once you have the iso use Rufus to create a bootable drive. FAT32/NTFS does not matter, just make sure that under the drop down list in Rufus you choose MBR for BIOS. Format the disk.

2. Ensure that your HDD is set to IDE mode not AHCI.

3. Profit!

So im trying to install windows 10 on this:

CPU: AMD Athlon X2 5200+

GPU: Radeon Hd 4850 Iceq 4 HIS

Mobo: gigabyte ga-ma69gm-s2h

Ram: 4Gb of something

PSU: Antec Earthwatts 500W

Case: Thermaltake Commander MS-I

Cooler: Thermaltake TMG A1 (or something like that)

HDD: WD Blue 500Gb

And instead of having an Invalid Partion Table, it wont boot off the HDD. I installed Windows 10 onto the hard drive on my main computer, and it boots. I can plug my ssd with my copy of Windows 10 into the machine above, and it will boot. But when i plug in the HDD it wont do anything. What am I doing and how do i fix it?

thats very strange that it boots off of an ssd but not hard drive. Right now i cant think of why it might be doing that but i will reply in a minute after i do a bit of research.

It is the only bootable device in the machine. Not sure why it would be confused. Please explain

What is happening exactly when it posts? is there any form of error? Does the HDD appear in the bios and if you enter the boot selection menu at bios and select the HDD will it still not load?

It says "DISK BOOT FALIURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"

Edit: In the BIOS it appears in the menu

1 HDD. No CD Drive, only thing in the IO is a VGA cable and a PS2 Keyboard. 6 GB or RAM, The CPU, nothing in expansion slots

And this HDD boots when plugged into a different Computer? If yes, did you install Windows 10 from a different Computer? If yes again, use Windows 10 installer and use the utilities to see if there is a hidden partition, this is what should have hold your MBR.

1. Yes

2. Yes

3. The issue is it wont boot from USB (Invalid Partion Table), so i had to install on another machine

Ok.. now it's getting clearer. :)

When you did this installation from the other machine, did it have a different HDD or SDD in it? If so the likely problem is the MBR is installed on the different HDD/SDD.

Is the USB installer drive set to UEFI GPT only or something?

Could be that the motherboard you have is BIOS and the thumb drive is UEFI?

Someone please help

so now you see only a black screen? Don't fret allow it a good 30 mins.... Windows 10 is now sorting through it's driver sets since the original Hardware it detected is no longer the same. If it still doesn't boot after that time, I am also out of ideas.
