So I just bought my girlfriend a i3 6100 and wondering if I should spend more money I don't have on a Z170 board.

I was thinking about the Gigabyte GA-Z170 HD3P.

Did Intel already upgrade the microcode on my 6100?  / Can I use that motherboard to overclock non k, is it update with the pesky bios?

Is it a big risk to spend more money on that board and possibly not being able to overclock the i3?

The only  advantage I can see,  is that the board is more future proof than a H110  duuh.. And the advantage of using high speed Ddr4 memory which the i3 loves so much.

Are there 50-50 chances to overclock or way lower in favour of not being able.

Thanks,  I know it's a stupid question but would like to hear other opinions
