It's deceiving. Cherry pick 1 game and specifically optimize for that. Good luck running current GPUs at high 4K at 50fps across the board. An honest showcase might have been Crysis 3 high settings 5K. And you wonder why AMD's PR sucks a fattie.

Polaris 11 is the one in question in this thread. And it's the one they showed a few months ago playing battlefront with very lower power consumption compared to GTX 950

 

Polaris 10 has a bigger die and expected to be a bit more high end. They have been very tight lipped about Polaris 10 and not shown it yet.

I agree with what you're saying, but in essence that is what modern marketing is. That is how statistics work, you manipulate them until they fit whatever numbers look good, but you exclude the specific circumstances (from the marketing campaign) which allow for those numbers to be possible. Both GPU manufacturers make outlandish claims about the capabilities of their new cards, however they're always 100% fact, circumstantial fact, but fact none the less. Which is why people like Linus can make a living, by throwing all of that marketing bullshit out the window, and testing in real world scenarios through the use of benchmarks and play throughs. This provides results with a more accurate representation of a broader userbase over a large type and style of games, so that you know what kind of performance to really expect for your dollar.

AMD always over hypes, I don't believe it until I see it. Also it does look like is is 3 inches long.

What I find most interesting is how frickin small Polaris 11 looks... seriously, I think it's smaller than the Nano!!!

If that's the case, I feel like it's probably using HBM1.

Watching the interview with Ryan and that guy from AMD, they talked about the naming scheme. The AMD guy then said that the numbers would increase if there were ever to be more Polaris GPU's. So doesn't that mean that Polaris 10 is the little one and 11 is the big one?

Also, "Playing back 4K VR content" is just that, playing a 4k VR video, not actually running a game.
