OC Genie not working

I have this board MSI A88X E35 V2

 

It keeps saying this

I have updated the bios to the latest version-30.6 consequently; I cannot overclock it manually the multiplier is locked and the OC genie doesn't work, I get the message "supports 65w K-series only".

You need a "k" series CPU to overclock.  If you don't have a "k" series then your not able to overclock in any meaningful way.

The cpu is overclockable though?

The 860k is 95W CPU, and the error seems to be fairly straightforward.

It means that only CPUs with a TDP of 65W or lower are supported. The 860K has a TDP of 95W thus making it imcompaitble. Basically it draws too much power for the power delivery system on the motherboard to handle.

Buy a new motherboard that supports the 860K.

Whats the cheapest one that would support it? Could I use a custom BIOS?
