core 2 duo in a PFsense router

I have a pfsense router with 4gb of ram and a core 2 duo and a internet speed of 15 down and 2 up. We will be getting a new ISP and will get a Download of 70 and upload of 30 i am wondering if a core 2 duo will be fast enough to handle those speeds new speeds?? thx

Yes. It's still overpowered compared to any off the shelf router you can buy.

My linksys router (WRT 1900AC) is dual core 1.2 Ghz and that is still a seen as a high end consumer router

With your core 2 duo, you shouldn't have any worries whatsoever for a long time. I've worked with pfsense routers that have Atom processors and they handled 4 interfaces of 100 down and 50 up with ease.
