Besides, I like computer that are fast not only can play games but can render video faster and loading faster.. i think the i7 6700k is the right choice for me and i don't know the other stuff that i need like motherboard, ram and so on in my pc(CPU)... My budget is not much.. below $1083.86 but i leave in Malaysia so RM4500 for me .....what item should i pick to build my pc that i want ? I also want to build pc that i can use for long time like 5 or 6 years from now.. I don't know more about pc build because i still a newbie at this kind of stuff but i really wanna build a good pc for me that not cost much.. I really need help from u guys.. I hope u guys understand what the **** i just type hahaha xD (IF you guys tell me what to buy please tell me the reason) :)

i built my PC in january this year with the same budget as yours, around RM4500

i only got an i5 6600 and 970

the 970 will last you awhile in 1080p gaming but the i5 will make you suffer slightly in rendering works...

but with your budget i dont think u can stretch to put an i7 inside

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

If you are gaming you should focus more on the graphics card. R9 390 or a gtx 970 will work just fine, and you don't have to spend so mutch money for the CPU, an i5 Will work just fine.

i gonna use the pc not just for gaming but recording games, video editing and for future plus i like the 4.0 ghz speed of i7 6700k. some people say i don't need the good graphic card like gtx 970 because i just gonna play games in 1080 full HD.. do graphic card effect video editing ?

gpu dont affect video editing as much as cpu does

if you're heavy on video editing i suggest you go i7 and 960, but gaming performance will take a huge hit... you wont be playing games at 1080p at ultra settings

I see.. so I think I will go with i7 because I will be editing a lot then playing games...plus games like dota 2 don't use graphic card a lot.. if I play online games on hd do internet need to be more fast like youtube video in hd ?

Not so mutch. Processor is the main thing. You can get a nice i5 but look for the "K" that means it can be overclocked but for overclocking you will need a better cooler that will increase the cost. Don't get lower than 4GB of VRAM cuz 2GB are just not enough for the future.

nope, games' graphics tectures are saved in your pc so the data it sends and receives are minimal

while youtube have to send a dozen of "pictures" to make a video

on a side note: ill be going to low yat tomorrow, i could help you ask around for a rm4500 computer if you want xD (computer planning is somewhat my hobby)

I see.. but i5 has just 4 cores.. I think for editing video and recording I need the power of 8 cores plus the 8 cores maybe a good idea for future like 5 years later because the i5 4 cores will be a bit hard at that time then i7 8 cores :) wow thx that helps a lot..i was thinking the same thing about the vram.. how about other things like motherboard ?

i7 6700k doesnt have 8 cores, it have 8 LOGICAL cores, its slightly different xD

well if you wan the build to last awhile in 1080p, 4gb vram is pretty much a good to have, and 8gb is overkill

oh I see.. so I can play hd game after this without worry about internet connection.. YA sure I want that.. I also planning to buy computer things at lowyat because it's cheap at there.. what you think about ram ? which should I get ? ddr 4 or 3 ? but I think ddr 4 is better because after ddr 3 they gonna use ddr4 ram plus I gonna use it for long time so when I wanna plus(+) ram it's easy because more ddr 4 ram at that time and cheaper.

for skylake you should only get DDR4, because why the hell not...

can i have more details about what kind of rig are you expecting so i can find the most suitable part

ie.

budget rm4500 fixed? or +-100 or something

wifi? yea/no

any prefered case?

does the budget include:

windows 10? (that'll take our RM400 from your budget)

peripherals like keyboard, mouse, and monitor?

planning to re-use hard disk or buy new?

well i can pretty much come out with 2 conclusive build now tbh, just to get exact price and parts name

1) i5 + 970/390 (better for gaming)

2) i7 + 380/380x/960 (better for video editing and what not)

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

ya the 4 cores and hyper threading will plus 4 more low cores.. same like 8 cores hehe... but I not gonna overclock the i7 6700k so should I go for I7 6700 without (k) ? because I see some different the i7 6700k has Processor Base Frequency 4.0 ghz and Max Turbo Frequency 4.2 ghz... the i7 6700 has Processor Base Frequency 3.4 and Max Turbo Frequency 4.0 ghz ... so I think the i7 6700 k is faster but I don't know more about that ..what u think ? but I like if it's faster because I like fast things haha ..which want u think better for me ? plus the i7 6700 cheap abit on google price..

if you dont wanna OC, i recommend going 6700 route, you dont only save in the lesser cost of a locked chip, you also save on an overclocking motherboard (which is why i went with 6600 instead of 6600k, oc board are fking costly in msia)

as for performance, probably doesnt really matter much if you dont go think about it everyday

rm4500 fixed but if rm 100 or 200 more I think I can manage that.. more then that I think I can't..

yupz I use wifi..

case I would like that can see through

idk about window.. maybe 7 but if window 10 not hard too learn I will take window 10 plus I think don't need rm400 for window because just install using pendrive.. maybe cost like rm 50+ for installing

keyboard mouse monitor I will use the old one that I have right now...

nope, buy new ... I think of 1 sdd disk and 1 hdd disk.. 1tb hard disk ..ssd idk if 120 gb will enough for me for os and games editing software...

i7 I think.... + 380/380x/960 ? is that gpu ? if gpu can it do both like games and editing ?

hmm... you're fine with any case as long as it have a window?

well windows 7 license is not available in the shops now, windows 10 license is 400~420, im talking bout and license not the software lol

what cost rm50+ to install??

if you wan new hdd and ssd, i recommend 240gb ssd + 2tb hdd, how does that sound?

380 or 380x is from amd, 960 is from nvidia, these 3 cards can do moderate gaming at 1080p, dont expect to put your settings on ultra and get over 60fps

if you wan 1080p gaming for 3 years on dota 2, the 960 will do xD

if you're looking for triple A titles like rise of the tomb raider or assassins creed or any of the sorts, i suggest going 970 or 390, but with your budget i dont think can go i7 + 970/390, but ill see what i can put up tomorrow at low yat xD

important question: u're building this pc yourself or want the shop to build? i built it myself and saved about rm300~500 from buying the cheapest parts from all over low yat, coz some places sell motherboard cheap, some sell hard disk cheap etc etc xD

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

case I would prefer like good locking case with window.. so the case look cool will some led lights haha..

idk anything about the license haha.. but like 1 year before my pc hard disk burn so I when to buy new one and the guy install window 7 for rm 50 only at that time...

240gb ssd good but I think 2tb hdd too much for me but I think for future it will worth it because I like to download hd video like movie from youtube... if it's cheap 2tb I will buy it..but pls see the quality of the disk.. u now some disk run faster and some run slower.. I like faster ..maybe it cost abit more then the slower but I prefer the faster hard disk and ssd..

I was planning too buy second hand graphic card but I scared if the graphic card got damage.. but I think maybe new graphic card is better.. is lowyat near to your house ? that helps :)

ya I planning to buy thing like u say because it will save me some money..

idk how to build pc hahaha.. but I don't want too pay rm 300 - rm 500 for building my pc...fck that hahaha xD too expensive...
