I've looked and looked but haven't been able to find a way to disable the full-screen update popups in Windows 10.

They use the same strategy as a virus, giving me only one option and blocking everything out. They happen when I'm working, playing a game, watching a video, etc...

Anyone have any idea how to stop these damned things? I can deal with a lot of the stupid issues Windows 10 has, but this is unacceptable.

I've never seen or heard of what you are describing.  Are sure it isn't a real virus?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

It pops up in front of everything and doesn't let you interact with anything until you press the button. It's usually "updates are available" or something like that.

I've tried all the update settings, screwed around with group policy, still happening.

It is definitely not a virus. Happens on all my Win10 computers, they've all been scanned and whatnot, just Windows.

May as well be a virus...

Hm, very strange... When I have updates available, I notice because the little thing (you know, this (below)) goes solid white (meaning I have a message).  If i click on it it will tell me updates are available and offer to download and install them, and then schedule a reboot at my earliest convenience.  Honestly, the whole process is so much nicer than it was on previous versions.

when there are updates the icon at the bottom turns white and says to schedule a restart, there are no popups
