Laptop not booting

My laptop was working this morning and now will not boot. It keeps saying no boot device.

try re-seating your hard disk?

I can't do that be cause I can't get inside the laptop and it may void my warranty if I have anything left of it.

Try going to the BIOS and check your boot options. Select your hard drive

How old is the laptop? The hard drive might've died...

 

But yeah, I would double check the BIOS boot settings.

if you have warranty then just send it in, though most companies allows you to tamper with ram and hard disks, but best not to take risks if you're still under warranty

I have tried that. Still nothing

The laptop is just over 1 year old

Try finding "Secure Boot" then disable it then choose CSM OS

Hmm, yeah, I would warranty it...although it sucks, there is a change the hard drive might've died...the hard drive does show up in BIOS at least?

Yes I have checked and secure boot is turned off.

How about the submenu after that. I can't remember it but it should make you choose from
CSM OS
UEFI OS
CSM and UEFI OS

choose the first one

Yes it shows the hard drive in the bios

I had an Acer laptop once which would show the HDD in the BIOS, but other than that the drive was dead as dodo. 

 

If I was you, I'd just RMA the laptop if it's still under warranty. If not, changing a HDD is really easy in most laptops.

After 2-3 hours I have finally got a disc with recovery tools working and it appears that my c drive has been formatted .
