I want to move my copy of windows 8.1 to my ssd in my pc so i can boot up my computer faster and things like that. I've asked many people and they all say different things and I don't know which way is the best.

I don't want to use any 3rd party apps. Do u know how to convert it or do you know of any useful tutorials on how to do so. Thanks

also, how do u convert other things like, games, steam and other apps to an ssd?

Specs:

256gb SSD :

1TB HDD

You could try cloning the partition on your hard drive over to your SSD. I'm not too sure about programs though but you can google that yourself, well because you are a smart individual!

Hope this helps :P

If you wish to clone Windows over to your SSD, MiniTool Partition Wizard can help you with that, which is free.

games and apps, you just copy over. for your os, a clean install is strongly recommended.

I've used Macrium Reflect to Clone from a hard drive to an ssd to another ssd a couple months later and have had no issues whatsoever. I made sure I had backups every steap of the way though.

will it also transfer programs and games?  also how stable is the program?

I have used the program for doing operations on my partitions, and it has not crashed for me at all. Whatever is on the HDD should transfer over to the SSD.

Yes I put a backup .mrimg file of my entire system onto the external as well as a 64GB flash drive for the transfer from HDD to SSD. Then when I cloned from the SSD to the new SSD I put a .mring on my external, the flash drive, and the HDD which was no longer the system drive.
