Hey, trying to decide whether I should replace my current computer.

I'm running a late 2009 imac with an E6700 CPU (3.06GHz intel core 2 duo), 8 GB of Ram which is plenty for me and an ATI Radeon HD 4670 256MB graphics card.

Most of the time I only use it for streaming video, browsing the internet and simple programs (Word, Excel) but I've started to use it more for 3-D solid modeling (Siemens NX mostly) and a bit of light simulation and the poor thing is starting to struggle!

Being a student I'm on a budget, I've thrown together a few parts that seem to be compatible on pc part picker which is the sort of price i'm looking for (£300-450). http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/WsPywP

Didn't think a GPU would be necessary as i don't really play games and it saves some cash? I only plan on running a single 1080/1440 monitor.

I am a bit hesitant to upgrade as the Mac is so easy and compact being an all-in-one but I've wanted to start playing around with PC's for a little bit now, Do you think there will be a noticeable speed increase with a system as cheap as this?

Thanks in advance, bit of a noob with this!
