PWM (Pins 3+4) Fan Controller?

jasonvp

Hey gang -

I've searched around various forums and I keep coming up blank on this. My suspicion is that I'm going to be SOL. But here's the challenge:
I have 1 Swiftech pump that takes its own SATA power, as well as PWM pins 3 and 4 from the motherboard to control its speed. I also have 3 Swiftech 8-fan PWM splitters; like the pump, they each take SATA power in, along with PWM pins 3 and 4 from the motherboard. Any fan connected to them will get +12v directly from the power supply (SATA) and be controlled properly via pins 3 and 4.

This setup mostly works, but I'd rather take my motherboard and the associated Asus software out of the loop completely, and make the whole cooling bit hardware driven. All of the controllers I've come across so far only use pins 1-3 because they control the connected fans' speeds via varying the voltage. If I connect my pump or the splitters to one of those controllers, the result is 100% speed 100% of the time, as should be obvious.

Are there honest-to-God 4-pin PWM controllers out there that I'm just not finding? I need 4 channels minimum; I don't need them to feed power to the fans (if they do, it'll just be ignored by the spliiters), but I do need them to use pins 3 and 4. Do they exist, or am I outta luck?

Thanks!
