Hi! I'm new to the forums though I've been staling them for well over 2 years now, not new to LinusTechTips either, Linus and the rest are the sole reason I'm into computers as much as I am now c: So a small thank you to them!

But anyway; I'm currently in a long distance relationship with someone from America, I'm UK and he's wanting to spend some money on me and him for a new system, he isn't too involved with the planning or building process, he wants me to spec up and build us both a system that he's going to pay for! I've been given a budget of $2000 (Or around 1300 British Pounds) to spend on each system, only the tower, we have the likes of keyboards, mice, headsets and a screen or two. We both want it to be Razer themed as we both love the company so naturally, the case I chose was the NZXT H440 Designed By Razer edition not only for it's Razer theme but it's beautiful look, cable management system, spacious interior and a new other features. However I'd like feedback from the kind people here on the forums on the systems I've planned. They're both essentially exactly the same so I'll only list a single system. The items in bold are locked and ideally I'd not like to replace it with something else however I'm more than open for feedback! (Links are to the UK based retailer Scan.co.uk )

pretty much a solid build, though support for VR is a tough prediction to make...

also, since you're getting the H440, wouldnt you wanna showcase 2x 2.5inch hard disk on the 2.5inch mount on the psu cover? unless it doesnt have a window

First off welcome to LTT forums!

I think your build is great but maybe try getting a different GPU but you don't need to :P. A 250 GB SSD would work better, in my opinion 128GB is small for todays standard

Hope this helps :P

Use PCPartPicker to make your list It will show us the exact parts, like which PSU it is that you have. The SuperNova series is good and bad. But get Noctua fans (LTT edition if you want black ones) and get a Samsung 250gb EVO 2.5 instead for less

The Razer one does have a window but I'd much rather have faster speeds over a shown SSD, the Hue + takes up a single 2,5" slot though so that'll be on display.

You won't notice the difference for the most part. And get a 980ti instead of the Fury. You're spending extra for the watercooling you dont need

well ive seen the hue+ interfering with dual gpu setup so bare that in mind

also, having one empty slot is hideous imo... i have the n450 (same internal chassis) and i filled both slots, just so i dont see an empty slot xD

His is a watercooled edition for a third party brand. Like what EVGA has.

Thank's for the warm welcome :D

I'm leaning toward the R9 due to the integrated water cooling, I'm not a fan of a loud computer since mine is currently trying to remake the sound of a Harrier Jump Jet taking of! (3 Pin header decided to stop working so I have no case fans </3)

I agree that 128GB is small but I;d only be using it for the likes of the main OS and some select games, however I may compromise and get the best of both worlds (But unfortunately with the Motherboard I've selected it seems when the M.2 drive is filled two of the SATA 6GB ports stop working, which is a bummer)

I may see about getting a difference card though :3

ooo, well yea she should get a 980Ti if the price difference isnt big, since the 980Ti have a higher performance than the fury

Okay :P

P.S i would suggest a 250 GB drive because they can in some cases be more reliable than 128GB ones but imsure someone will shout at me for saying that xD

If you check the link I posted beside the GPU you'll see it is indeed the Fury and it does have integrated watercooling.

The current selected card is 450 pound, the cheapest 980 TI on Scan is 530. It's a pretty big jump in my eyes... It does have a better overall performance but I think I'd only get one if it was on offer.

well tbh, its near the release of pascal at this point, you might wanna wait it out, because VR should be better supported on the new architecture (seeing how 970 defeats 780 Ti in Steam VR test)

Yeah, can't blame you :P It isn't the first time to happen and it isn't going to be the last ^^ You do have a point though, my only issue is he want's a system soon so depending on the release date I may not be able to wait. If I must I mat just wait for VR and when I'm ready, get a newer card and give mine either away or to him. One of the two will do!

Thanks helpful but I need UK retailers xD He's paying for the parts via Paypal and when his system is built over here in the UK he's going to pay shipping fees for me to send it to him (Which is going to be a burden and awkward)

why not just build identical pc in own country, shipping fee easily costs as much as a decent gpu tbh

He isn't willing to make a computer despite how simple and easy it is, though with some help and advice I may be able to have it assemble it himself.

My only issue with Pascal is price, I'm afraid it's going to be too expensive to fit with the current system, however with it's release there's more than likely going to be a price drop with the 980 and 980 TI range. Maybe not a lot but it's a drop.

Swapping the site to the UK domain show's the price to be relatively the same thankfully, let me go see how much it comes to in scan!

i believe the price of pascal would be to replace the price of current gen products,

ie, the 1070 will be $350 upon release, like the 970 being $350 when its released, but i could be wrong
