Hello! i am about to replace my old graphics card out of my computer with a new one. my current card is a GTX 740.

that left my wondering what i was going to do with it afterwards? So i had an idea. Maybe i could find a way to hook it into my HTPC.
My HTPC is a Mini pc. Link. 8gb of ram, 250gb 850 evo.

so i did some research today, and it has a spare Msata port inside.

then i found this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/181943864835?rmvSB=true

Could this be a cool little mod i could play around with?

what do you guys think?

Thanks! Conner.

Don't. Really don't. The GTX 740 will be faster than the iGPU of the mini PC but it isn't worth spending $60 on a eGPU dock plus another $40 on a PSU for a GTX 740.

You could use the aforementioned mini PCIe adapter to enable an older laptop to play games, albeit at lower settings. Other than that, I don't see many uses for it. However, it still doesn't make sense to spend $80-$100 more on a $70 card just so you can use it somewhere. Consider selling or donating it instead, or using it for Folding at Home or something in a scrap build.
