Watercooled Silverstone FT02 Nvidia theme build

Nickel block and a copper block? Won't mixing metals cause issues?

This is really cool though.

Thanks!

I am not worried, Nickel (plated, copper underneath)  and copper can be mixed and the coolant i am using has anticorrosion additives.

Trouble would be if i added aluminium to the loop.

UPDATE 9

So at last it arrived, X1 coolant.

This time around i will be testing the colors before i fill the loop.

My system holds just under 1 liter of fluid and it took about 10 liters to get rid of the pastel and the sysclean stuff.IMAG0498.jpgIMAG0499.jpgIMAG0501.jpgIMAG0502.jpgIMAG0503.jpgIMAG0504.jpgIMAG0505.jpgIMAG0506.jpg

Right now it looks like this, i have not dyed it at all and i am not sure im going too.  It really depends on how i end up having my lighting.

IMAG0508.jpg

I think it looks pretty sweet and im glad that i flushed the pastel.

The dustfilter thing has come back from powdercoating it looks good, i just have to get around to polishing the nvidia logo.  And figure out how to make an airtight seal between the dustcase and the pc, it has to be easy to remove for cleaning and look good at the same time.

I am kind of busy at work so i will do it as soon as i can.

Im out of beer and i have an 8pin EPS cable to sleeve, if i time it correctly i will have gotten more beers and sleved that cable by the time the WAN show starts.

UPDATE 10

So i have been busy and hadn't had time to move forward much.

Getting the nvidialogo and letters cleaned and chromed would cost me around 280 us dollars so that wasn't an option.

Instead i made them shiny and gave them some clear coat so they wouldn't corrode.

I finally mounted them to the dust case and i think it looks pretty sweet, judge for yourself

IMAG0646.jpgIMAG0648.jpgIMAG0650.jpgIMAG0652.jpgIMAG0654.jpg

I mounted the letters with M5 screws from the inside

IMAG0655.jpg

Next i am gonna cut a larger hole in the side panel and add tempered glass instead of plexi.

I am also gonna add UV lights.

I am also currently waiting for some rubber things to dust proof the space between the case and the dustfilter thing

Sorry for the long update times but life is a bitch these days (busy with work)

Stay Tuned!

I completely forgot about this post! Can't believe you haven't either ;)

Looking really good so far! Can't wait to see the finished product after all this time! :D

I say jiggly-bytes when I see "GB".

It goes down better than you would expect.

The build is looking amazing can't wait to see it finished! Excellent job in all the mods , I think the Nvidia logo and lettering looks sick just like it is no need to waste that much cash to get it chromed

I am trying to get the uv lights just right, i want no purple glow, just green uv parts shining.

The white led strips i installed makes it hard to see the green memory mod. I wish they would light up more. So the white led´s are gonna gonna be removed i think.

I also installed my psu cover

IMAG0658.jpg

and playing around with UV light placement

UPDATE 10 and 3 quarters

So i have been messing around with an idea for a GPU Cover since i don't like the two different water blocks showing. I mean, they do look good, but this will round things off.

This what i am thinking of...

GPU cover mockup2.JPG

I am thinking this...

First layer in black following the contour of the cards and the block itself.

Second layer in UV green with som angles

Third layer in black with milled out slots and letters showing the green layer underneath, Just to add some depth perception to it.

Hopefully i will get around to it by weeks end. Also, tempered glass is on its way.

So its time to revive this thread with a major update.

I was happy with the build so far but it has now turned into a full fledged home built case.
The only part im not making myself apart from the main components of course is the motherboard tray from case labs.

I wanted it to be easy to maintain, dust free and i wanted the motherboard to be rotated 90 degrees as in the FT02 case.

First up

New components:

Motherboard is upgraded to an ASUS ROG MAXIMUS IX FORMULA

CPU is upgraded to a Kabylake 7700K

Memory modules are upgrade to 32 GB of Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4

and two 1080Ti´s as a kicker.

I am getting a larger reservoir 250mm

and instead of one 180x560mm radiator, i am going with two EK-CoolStream CE 140x560 (Quad) with 8 NF-A14 industrialPPC-2000 IP67 PWM´s.

First off, som sketches.

yeah, i know, its almost ridiculous :D

Its just when you work, sometimes 50 hours a week it tends to be difficult to find the time to do it :)

Test fitted the res and pump today.

I Finished the edges inside and made the pumpmount permanent.

Used a scrap chunk to line up the pump bracket with the holeGOPR0508.thumb.JPG.c118afab139727bb91985d516057e8d0.JPG

GOPR0510.thumb.JPG.bdc1a4ac85815f5fcda5468ecdf7c46f.JPG

Perfect fit id say :D without touching the edges of the hole, we dont want vibrations from the pump.GOPR0517.thumb.JPG.54573a2b74f7bc4f5c538a447e1cb34a.JPG

GOPR0519.thumb.JPG.135a984f810b92a88bb1070804dff935.JPG

Next up is the top plate, i am thinking it should be magnetic.

Hopefully i can send it to powder coating this week, i also need to order the tempered glass windows.

Also, here is a sketch of what i am planing to do with the front GPU Block (the one most visible)

I am not sure about the final form this is just the concept

Mini update.

Im using an m.2 drive on the motherboard as boot drive.

I am planning for one SSD with the option of getting one more at a later date.'

Also one standard hard drive for other stuff.

This is how im mounting them:

GOPR0525.thumb.JPG.907b95b126e89bdc2c321164f5c0f79e.JPG

Airflow in this part of the case is not really optimal, so i raised the trays i got from caselabs and i am adding some holes for airflow later.

GOPR0526.thumb.JPG.123822cf34101205e12fbf2119506bd4.JPG

I am planning on doing the top this weekend.
