doing tons of research on a new card to buy tonight-

390X or R9 Fury (air cooled)

for a MG279Q FreeSync 1440p monitor.

just read a few posts about the next wave of cards coming in a few months... now there is a variable...

do i get a cheaper 390X for now OR get the Fury then hope price drop by November to Xfire?

If I go the 390X route it will probably be replaced by the Holidays.. few posters said polaris will double the Fury line.

any advice is appreciated

Honestly I would just wait for Pascal and Polaris to see what they have to offer and to see how much the price drops. If you must buy a card tonight I would say get the 390X due to its massive vram.

GPU: XFX RX 7900 XTX

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D

MSI because of its higher core clock. However the Sapphires generally have better coolers, however they are massive. You might be able to get a higher core clock with the Sapphires however if you overclock. It honestly depends whether you like a cooler computer or a slightly faster one (GPU Wise)

You are talking about these two correct? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127872&cm_re=r9_390x-_-14-127-872-_-Product

Then yeah go with the MSI, also it looks pretty bad ass. It is an absolute awesome GPU and I would buy it if I could.
