Hey guys, I thought you might help me out with getting a new pair headset. I currently have Razer Kraken and it is in a pretty bad condition, I want a new pair that sound amazing. I will be using the headset for music, gaming and video editing, I don't need a headset with microphone, because I have a dedicated microphone setup.  My budget is between $100-$300 Canadian Rupees. I am willing to spend more if it is worth it.

Take a look at the recommendation board. The Sennheiser HD558 seems like a good choice, it's a bit worse than the 598 but will be in your price range. By the way it's called a headphone not a headset when there's no mic :).

i5 4670 | Asrock Fatal1ty H87 | G.Skill 16GB snipars | Gigabyte GTX 760 Windforce | CM 690 III | 850 Evo 250GB + 2TB Seagate Barracuda | Seasonic G-750 | Logitech G502 | AKG K553 | Windows 10

You do know that you can EQ the HD 558 so they sound like the HD 598 right?

Is open or closed design headphone is better for gaming and listen to Electro and Deep House?

Open= bigger soundstage, more 3D like sound.

Closed= small soundstage.

A big soundstage is really good for gaming, so open are the best for gaming, but you will be able to hear everything that goes on around you in real life.

You don't even have to do that... They sound damn-near identical out of the box.

If you don't mind open, why not take a look at the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro. The 990's are a personal favorite of mine.

MSI Z97M Gaming | i7-4790k | NZXT Kraken X61 | 16GB Kingston Savage DDR3 2400
EVGA GTX1080 Ti FTW3 | EVGA G2 750 | Phanteks Enthoo Evolv | 1TB 850 Evo | 2TB 860 Evo | 22TB DS918+

Scarlett 2i2 | WooAudio WA7 Fireflies | Fostex TR-X00 | Beyer DT990 | MrSpeaker Alpha Dog | V-Moda M-100 | JBL LSR305 MK2

Beyerdynamic DT 990 are nice. or DT 770, if closed (of a bit better: Beyerdynamic Custom Studio).

But keep in Mind... The Kraken is one of the Bassiest bassmonsters i've ever put on my head (besides the sony XB series).

However... The Bassquality is one of the worst i've ever seen.

No matter which headphone you chose, you should get a good bunch LESS bass. But the Quality of it will be a whole different Dimension.

So it might sound "boring" at first. But give your ears a few days to get used to it.

One Advantage of Beyerdynamic headphones: They are build like Tanks. seriously. They are SO difficult to break. And you can get almost every single part of the Headphone in Beyerdynamic's spare-part sale. And the Prices are very Fair.

The Ad500x/ad700x and k612pro are really good for pinpointing where the sounds are coming from.
