Hello,

Im planing to build a mini itx system, for Utrawide 60hz 3440 x 1440 gaming (high end games )

Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz

But which cpu should i chose im thinking about the radeon r9 nano.

My goal is to have 60 fps in full resolution 3440 x 1440 in the most games preferably although for future games.

Me thinks yee ain't gonna get 60+FPS at ultra settings in a lot of current games nevertheless future games with a 980.

- ASUS X99 Deluxe - i7 5820k - Nvidia GTX 1080ti SLi - 4x4GB EVGA SSC 2800mhz DDR4 - Samsung SM951 500 - 2x Samsung 850 EVO 512 -

you actually need less gpu power than you'd think.

that said, i'm not too sure about the nano idea. are you specificly going for a small form factor machine? if not i'd suggest to try to stretch the budget towards a 980ti, so you're not stuck with the nano's rather funky cooling solution. (i'm not too sure about a fury X, because i still dislike watercooling)

if you like case-filling, you could -for roughly the price of a 980ti- also get two R9 390's in crossfire, and bump up to 8GB vram. (since a lot of new high end titles seem to grab all the vram they can)

So im going for a mini itx build in the Silverstone Sugo SG13B

The case fits a Titan so ...

Do i really need a gtx980ti ?

you dont *need* anything, its a matter of what the budget is, and what you want the result to be.

the nanos are known to thermal throttle, but i dont expect a 980ti to do much better in a small chassis like that.

manikyath is right with the vram hungry games

i'd recommend something like that 980TI too, currently i use a 22" 1080p 60hz and a 34" 3440x1440 60hz from my ti and can run things like witcher3 or fallout4 with ultra settings 60fps ^^ so

and the ti is better than a titan, in price and performance

or the team red equivalent if that better fits your budget
