I'm assuming you have never dropped it or perhaps damaged it physically?

No it says 100% charged and no I have never dropped it

Have you checked what power setting you have? You may have a low power setting or something enabled that limits performance.

15" MBP TB

AMD 5800X | Gigabyte Aorus Master | EVGA 2060 KO Ultra | Define 7 || Blade Server: Intel 3570k | GD65 | Corsair C70 | 13TB

not the charge but some power plans will spin down your HDDs after a while. I have had that my SSDs and hardrives don't spin back up after turning them down. What are your power plan settings right now?

Does anyone even use PCIe SSDs?

No it says 100% charged and no I have never dropped it

I have a laptop that I barely use but it has never frozen on me including it being unplugged from a power source, here are some of the Advanced settings on High performance profile:

Cooling Method - Maximum Performance

Hard disk - Turn off after 30 minutes of inactivity

Sleep after - Never

Hibernate after - Never

Processor power management - Minimum processor state: 5% on battery, 100% plugged in

                                                   Maximum processor state: 100% on battery, 100% plugged in

Also to make sure there are no logical/sector HDD errors:

1. Start Menu

2. Type in cmd and run it

3. Type in chkdsk

Is it something to do with the sleep functionality. Are you leaving it for five minutes and then coming back to it?
