Hey,

Should I go for an MSi GTX 970 100ME or an Asus GTX 970 STRIX?

I'd have to save another another $33-61 AUD for the STRIX.

Thanks

What're the major differences between them, though?

And is the performance between the two different by a minimal level?

how much difference are the EVGA cards?

Well the MSI has a higher stock clockspeed and may overclock better and might stay cooler compared to the STRIX card.

I would personally prefer the MSI over the Strix, if you plan on overclocking the MSI cards are considered to be better performers.

Nothing wrong with the Strix, but many on these forums speak very highly of the MSI's performance and are not so praising of the strix.

See --- Here --- for the 970 owners club forum posts.

not worht spending 50 more for the strix, i have the strix, it can oc well but maybe im lucky, truly the only two reason i got the strix were it had a backplate and it was the cheapest 970 i could find at the time of purchase beside the windforce 3x but again i wanted the backplate :)

If you plan on overclocking, stay away from the STRIX.  They're voltage locked at 1.212v at the VRM, and are extremely limited in terms of potential power limits.

If they were the same price I'd say personal preference. Since the Strix is $50AUD more, get the MSI one, it's so much better.
