Asus Z-170 A Boot_device_led

This is basically my problem:  On startup the pc goes on, cpu and case fans go on, graphics card Logo goes on fancy case LEDs aswell. they al stay on and function

Then my Asus z170 a mobo cycles through the debug LEDs (not an actual screen but 4 separate LEDs):

1. CPU LED goes red, then after 1 sec switches off (CPU is gud)
2. DRAM LED goes red, then after 1 sec switches off (DRam is gud)
3. VGA LES goes red, then after 1 sec switches off (GPU is gud)
4. BOOT DEVICE LED goes on and stays on

PC does not post anything on my display connected through hdmi on the mobo

if we can fix this i will send you a steam giftcard!

The RAM that i have isnt listed as supported. but then the ram_led should light up or not? Or could that be the problem? its already the second board that doesnt work. and if the cpu would be faulty the cpuLed would light up. pls help.

Correct, the BIOS is part of your MOBO.

So does removing your storage devices (any hard drives or SSDs) fix it?

EDIT: Also, can we get a list of your parts?

nope, and the only two things could be because my ram isnt officialy supported or the mobo is broken, because as i said the cpu cant be broken if not the cpu led would light up. i only plugged in the mbo power (24 pin) and the cpu power, so wrong cableing is not possible..

So you don't have any storage devices plugged in?

Double check your Manuel to make sure the light you're seeing is what you think it is.

Is your PSU a Corsair CX? Probably isn't the issue here anyway.

So, you haven't actually SAID you've tried unplugging the storage devices.

Did you try this yet?

Post State LEDs

The POST State LEDs provide the status of these key components during POST: CPU, memory modules, VGA card, and hard disk drives. If an error is found, the critical component's LED stays lit up until the problem is solved

Page 1-34 of your MOBO's manual

Try the MemOK! button (See page 1-36 for more info)
