GTA 5 not working.. please help

the game just crashes, freezes every second! i tried everything under the fucking sun. reinstalled all of my drivers. reinstalled the game and did a satanic ritual.. still nothing.. this never happend to me.. i got a new graphics card (GTX 970) and it works with every other game i have.. only gta 5 is fucking up.. every cable and what not is in place.. help? btw i'm on windows 10

just goes to black screen and stops working. freezes, literally just freezes for 5 minutes and when it come back its at 2 fps with huge stuttering

Try this:

Go to My Documents > Rockstar Games > GTAV > settings and find the settings file, I do believe it was an XML file.

Open it with a text editing program and locate " <DX_Version value="2" /> " and change the 2 to 1.

 

Save it and reboot just incase.

My last bullet would be trying older drivers. Having the newest isn't always the goldilocks zone.
