Frame rate issues after Windows 10 update

AnthonyMarana

Hey all, recently created this account looking for some help.

So it seems after Windows 10 automatically updates I get serious performance drops in games. Notably speaking of GTA V, which I used to get 60+ fps in, after an update I'm hitting sub 30.

I tried a couple things, one of which was doing a system restore to before the update which fixed the issue, only for it to come back two days later.

Apologies in advance as I'm very new here but a long time fan of LTT. Thanks for any help I can get!

What games are affected by it? Is it just GTA? Also some system specs would be helpful.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

That's a terrible idea.

Windows 7 is ancient and is no longer supported properly.

It is so terrible. SO many mistakes were made in 7.

Windows 7 uses MBR (rather stupid) instead of GPT (Windows 8 -10).

Windows 7 uses a lot of ram compared to Windows 8, 8.1 or 10.

Windows 7 uses DX11 instead of DX12. Also Windows 10 Game Exclusives.

Seriously, you must really hate Windows 10 to not upgrade to it.

I've only noticed it in GTA so far, Fallout 4 is running smoothly as well as most other AAA titles.

Oh of course, my bad. I posted last night from my phone and I think I was too frustrated I forgot to include specs.

Windows 10 home 64 bit

CPU - amd fx-4300 vishera

Ram - 8gb ddr3 @ 668MHz

Motherboard - ASUS m5a99fx pro r2.0

GPU - Nvidia gtx 760

Storage - 250gb Samsung 840 evo SSD (OS and other commonly used apps.) - 1TB WD HDD for mass storage.

I don't have the most intense rig ever but I run what I play at a smooth frame rate on high to very high.

Also thanks for the help, I really appreciate you.

*Update*

I'm doing a clean install of Windows 10 to see if that fixes the issue.
