Cardboard testbench V2

So I have already made a case from cardboard 

 

But it's a little ugly and the test bench is a pain the ass to move, so It's time for a new case. 

 

So to start with we need a box

 

That's a box.

First jobs are to de-tape it and paint it. Time to get to work.

Yeah, If I had some old parts I would put something in it soon but I will have to wait to some weekend to move my main PC in, unless someone sends me something or I get some new parts.

Update:

I got all the tape off without destroying the box!

Not the neatest, but a couple of coats of pain should hide the slight imperfections - one of the squiggly parts that give the cardboard it's strength are showing.

That new box doesn't look to solid. You need one that a computer case came in-they are solid and around the correct size for a case.

I don't have a case. That's the problem. 

The cardboard should be strong enough, I don't have massive coolers so they shouldn't be a problem.

 

Besides, I will probably only have the case for a couple of months before I make the V3 (I have my eye on the perfect thing, but I can't use it yet).

Update: 

RIP this attempt, the box I was going to use was stood on and no longer has the strength to hold a mobo anymore, so this project is on hold for a couple of weeks

WE GOT SOME PROGRESS FINALLY!!

 

I ordered a 168mm tall cooler so it's pretty much impossible to go for a proper enclosed case out of the kinds of boxes that I can get. So, the plan now is to refine the testbench style and make it look a little better and be able to hold the weight of my new cooler.

That's a nice box, isn't it. (no, I haven't installed the new cooler yet)

 

 

I don't like the look of the old fan hole of my PC, so I built a kind of vent thingy to hide it, and it seems to have turned out well. Today I also cut the hole for the PSU but that's kind of boring (I also forgot to take a picture )

 

That's all for today, unfortunately exams are starting soon so I ain't going to have much time to work on it for about a month, but I will try to do as much as possible.

Judging by the fact that he didn't put a  or a /s he's serious. Although I couldn't find anything actually stating that anybody had a trademark on the name cardboard case, at least in the UK and US where it is easy to search their databases.

Yeah, I tried to search it as well, but only quickly. I think he isn't serious so I wouldn't worry too much. But anyways this build log is clearly titled ''Carboard testbench V2'' so not cardboard case.
