XFX Core Edition PRO - is this normal?

I got a 850w XFX Core Edition PRO and the fan is pretty loud when idle/light usage and gets even louder when playing games.

At first I thought it was maybe the cheap molex fans that came with my case so I went and replaced all of them with 3pin fans so my mobo can profile them.

 

mobo/cpu : asus z97-a | 4690k-stock

gpu : gigabyte wf oc 950

I had the same problem altho with the 550 model.

 

i however never found a solution and by the time i was upgrading my case i replaced the PSU for something with an eco mode :)
