So lately I've been all over the ltt forums dropping question from monitors to graphics cards and from modding to stability testing and the moment is finally at hand. I ordered the parts Thursday and they should arrive next week (hopefully). Feel free to rate it, critique the build and what you would do differently. If I get good arguments for other components, I might change something. Yes, the rig is overkill but I've been a pc gamer for almost 10 years and never had a kickass rig because of financial situations so now that I have the chance, wanting to go "all out" was the motivation behind this build.

P.s. How the hell do you deal with the waiting?? The amount of "getting the giddys during christmas as a kid" -feeling is through the roof and I've been updating the local post office's tracking code although I know that nothing happens during the weekends.

Where I live (Finland), we get SCREWED with VAT (24%) so everything costs around 20-40% more than what you get in the US so Titan was a bit out of budget (yeah it actually was out of budget). The rig you put together would cost around $5000 around here. Also I have no interest going full water cooling and want to keep the rig as quiet as possible while being easy to maintain and keeping the thermals low without a hit to boost clocks/turbo boost so a 980 ti with a good 3rd party cooler was my preferred option.

So jealous of that monitor. Saw it on PC Case Gear in Aus and thought "I need this, but I will never have it" congratulations :P

Some guy called my office, trying to sell me computers. I just said "oh you mean those little box's with the tv on top? Yeah, our accountant has some". He promptly gave up and hung up the phone lol

Thanks,  I was jumping between 279Q and the brand spanking new 348Q but as there basically isn't any reviews of the 348Q and I haven't ever experienced ultrawide, I don't want to invest into a format without trying it out and I want atleast 144Hz and IPS out of my main monitor so the decision in the end was quite easy. I'm just hoping I don't get a Monday panel with horrible backlight bleed as some of 279Q's have been suffering real bad bleed. :P

Overkill schmoverkill.. It's a solid rig and should last you a long time :D

It sure is :P I hope so too as I need this rig to work like a fucking clock. I'm a photographer with weekly gigs and have no time to doodle around with medicore hardware.
