So MS did it again, my start button doesn't work after I shut down my PC for the night and turned it on this morning........ tried a restart already and it didnt fix it........what do I do.

Does your task bar work? Is it just the start button?

the task bar works, just the start button, and notification button.

Have you tried a hard shut down and then start up? Sometimes this works instead of restarting.

I did, still nothing.

Of course, its Windows 10 after all.... its not like an update can be avoided......

Haha, this is very, very true. 

 

I'm not sure whats going on there, the only thing I might try is to make a new user account and see if the issue is on there too. Other then that, I honestly don't know what to tell ya man.

UGH!, I dont want to have to do a reset or attempt to uninstall updates, Microsoft has been getting worse and worse man.

Good news, I uninstalled the 3/02/2016 update and everything works now. I really wish MS would stop these auto updates, they scare the hell out of me.

The system was built with a fresh install of Windows 7 that I updated to Windows 10 immediately as soon as I could click update. The problem is resolved now though. Something must have corrupted a file when it was downloading the update it the background.
