Blocked connection.

I want to download a torrent at school as they have a better speed here than I have at home.

The problem is that it is blocked, I have the .torrent file but it says "Connecting to peers" and stays like that for ever.

What can I do to bypass it?

Not download things when you shouldn't be, they are blocked for a reason.

You'd be better off asking the techies at school rather than us, they do this kind of thing behind the scenes and the programs used shouldn't always be mentioned in public. There is an "underground community" even in tech.

Usually schools, colleges and unis block certain ports and traffic types to prevent misusage. And to keep network clear from programs that have network use.
