Wrapping tape around cables?

Is wrapping electrical tape around ketchup and mustard PSU cables a thing?

 

I am just wondering if this is a legit thing to do... I have never seen it done but maybe it just looks really bad in the end :P

Theoretically it can be done but not recommended since electrical tape leaves a sticky residue overtime. It's usually a more common thing to sleeve cables or get extensions as a low cost aesthetic solution.

Thanks for the answer, unfortunately I don't have time or money for sleeved ones.
