So I'm completly new to skyrim modding, something I've always wanted to do, and I'm now ready. I've read that Skyrim should not be installed in your programs folder, and I think mine is. the trajectory is this :

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim

So I guess I must install it somewhere else, right?

You don't have to install it elsewhere, you can just give nmm (would highly reccomend using mod organizer though) access to your program files.

There are many tutorials on this subject

Install Nexus Mod Manager, and go check out Gopher's YouTube channel. He has, by far, the most informative videos on modding, patching, and ENBs. Use Nexus Mod Manager, follow his instructions, and try and stay within the limits of what your PC can do, and you're going to have a wonderful time.

I'd be happy to recommend mods to you based on your specs, if you'd like.

- this is recommended because some mods do not work when installed there or something. Go to Steam > Settings > Downloads and add another install folder (I have just made a folder "Skyrim" in my C: drive). You will have to redownload+install the game, but in the end it will likely be worth it.

- be sure to use a mod manager such as mod organizer or nexus mod manager (I would recommend Mod Organizer since I use it myself)

It's like building a pc all over again, I'm so pumped! Unfortunatly I'll have to refuse your offer do, I want, no, I need to choose mods myself. For my sanity. And tits mods.

NMM is fine,  but I'd recommend Mod Organiser once you catch your bearings and learn how to mod better.

I can't recommend the S.T.E.P. Guide enough for people new to modding.  It'll tech you the basics and get you a good and efficient base to work off of.

Oh, and LOOT (updated version of BOSS, so you know what they're talking about if an old mod you download mentions it)  is an absolute must no matter how experienced a modder you are,  but make sure you read the compatibility guides for every mod you install to make sure all the mods you have are compatible, and to audit any small mistakes LOOT might make

Just started watching it and oh god when he said he'll go into full details I didn't think he'd go so deep, like my mom would be able to mod my Skyrim now hehehe
