Hi Guys,

 

please help what is the best way of cleaning off the thermal paste on the CPU i know you can use 90% isoprophyl alcohol on cleaning it can you tell me any alternative ways on cleaning it since that alcohol is hard to come by in my place.

You can clean it with just q-tips or just a microfiber cloth, you can wet them with water but not to the point where it will spread moisture to anywhere but the top of the PSU casing.  You really just don't want anything to really get wet.  That's why I would recommend q-tips as they cant really hold a lot of liquid, but a lightly dampened microfiber cloth or even a little piece of paper towel will do. 

 

Rubbing Alcohol / Isopropyl just makes the thermal material come right off, making the process much easier and faster.

A lot of things work , alcohol ( of course ), TIM cleaner , contact cleaner , you can just use cloth , . Just be sure NOT to use water.

A coffee filter and yeah any kind of rubbing alcohol... 70% is perfectly fine. 91% and 70% are usually available at any grocery store or pharmacy.
