Hi,

I'm having charging issues with my devices. I have a Moto G 2015 and Asus Transformer TF103. The Asus tablet came with a charger that is more powerful than the other ones I have, and for some reason it's almost impossible to charge with another charger. Last night, I tried to use the charger of the Moto G, and this morning the battery level was below 60%. What's even stranger is that I can use another USB cable with the Asus charger. The cable that came in is very short, and using another one would extend the charging time. Why is that?

I also noticed that when I use the Asus charger on my Moto G, the charge is a lot faster than with the original charger. Is this harmful for the battery or the phone?

Here are the specs of the two chargers :

Moto G (sorry it's a little bit blury but the text at the bottom is OUTPUT :5.0V 550mA) :

Asus Transformer:

Cables are rated differently too is why, there shouldn't be any problem with charging the moto g on the other charges, most devices should only pull in what they need.

Well the motorola charger is chargint at half an amp, and is very very very old.  No charger from the past 3-4 years come with anything less than 1amp charger.

You don't have to worry about charging danger, as the charger only uses as much power as the phone requests from it.

Might be an idea if your cable is too short to use an extension plug from the wall instead and plug the charger into that so that the cable reaches.

ok i misread the question...the charger for the moto g outputs fewer amps than your nexus so will take a lot longer to charge the tab itself since the tab also has a larger battery- but the phone has a smaller battery and can be charged faster by charger outputting more amps and a slightly higher voltage. As for the wires the asus charger wire will likely have less resistance than the motorola wire for safety reasons maybe and also the device will only need such an amount of power.

OK what I want to know now is how I can get a longer cable that wouldn't slow down the charging process.

read what I wrote above about getting a power strip instead and putting your charger into that.
