If you mean keeping the websites open 24x7 then it would require your computer and your VM to be on 24x7 also otherwise you risk your cookie/cache expiring and logging you out. If you don't mind this then go grab VMware Player or VirtualBox for free (I use VMware Player at home).

is vmware player free? also could i use it on 1hdd or would it overload the sata port

It is free, and it will even work on a flash drive, so long as it's large enough for what you're trying to do (don't though, it's slow).

Good example, I have VMWare Workstation (since I do a lot of VMs and I need some of the more advanced features that you wouldn't necessarily need, for example), and I have a folder on my games drive set aside just for VMs, and I could defrag a couple of them and still be able to play a game.

It would be far too slow, and what exactly do you mean by "how would it work off a flash drive?"

Just wanna give you the best possible answer so you don't say screw it or somehow mess something up. :P

Definitely.

Just so you know, the VM won't just claim the whole disk as its own. You set a max size limit (like 40 gigs), and then it basically just makes a file for it, kinda like a Word document.

Yup.

Like, this is what the folder looks like where I keep my VMs.

And this is the actual folder of the VM.

And while you could buy Windows, I want to say Ubuntu support is pretty well buttoned up in VMWare products.

I would go with Windows 7 (assuming you don't go with Ubuntu), and then either hit me up to activate it (;)) or actually buy it.

believe this is the torrent file for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (a trusted one, of course). https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bxu8unle-0U0bUxKeUJBQ1g3cTQ/view

And as for how, I have a program which basically inserts a license key and makes Windows think its genuine. I've used it literally DOZENS of times, and it even allows you to put in custom computer info kinda like in this.
