HELP!! Which GPU for My New Rig

Hi, im currently trying to build a new rig with the specs below:

AMD A10-7870K Godavari Quad-Core 3.9 GHz

ASRock Fatal1ty FM2A88X+ Killer

G.SKILL RipjawsX DDR3 2133MHz 8GB (2x4GB) CL10 1.5V

1TB Seagate/WD

My question is, what video card should I get.

My choices being:

Sapphire 390 Nitro

Gigabyte 970

Palit 970 Jetstream

Or should I even bother getting a GPU and work with the APU or should I get another CPU instead and get the GPU?

Going to use this mainly for gaming.

Planning to play GTA V, Just Cause 3 etc..

Thanks!

Get the Gigabyte 970 and switch your CPU to an X4 860K. Unless you want the AMD CHS shadows feature, APUs are useless, as their graphics just barely run any games. Also, be VERY careful not to put your CPU in sideways. I once had a system with very similar specs to yours. I no longer have that system.

Sadly, 860k is not available in my country.

Is intel not an option in your country?

Of course it is, also looking into using a 4460.

Use that instead. Exponentially better than an APU. Its fine if you have to step down your graphics card to a 380x or 380 if your budget wont let you get a 390 with an i5.

The 390 performs the same if not better than the 970 across the board, as well as having more than double the usable vram. The only reason to buy a 970 is if you have a shield tablet, or a g-sync monitor already.

Stick with the 390, and get an i5 4460 if you can fit it in your budget, if you cant afford the 4460, then even something like the i3 6100 is a great cpu for the money and you can get em for like 90$

Got it. Kinda what I was also thinking of doing. If cant squeeze in a 390 or a 970 with an i5 i'd go with a 380 or a 960. Part of the reason I am using a APU because its cheaper Thanks!

Why is this? Is it true only for 1 game?

The 970 will at times come out marginally faster in titles where nvidia is heavily preferenced. 90% of the time the 390 is going to perform the same, if not better. It's an all around better card, but for some reason the forums today/new members are really heavily nvidia biased across a large amount of threads.

If you want some backup for what I'm saying, you can simply google "site:linustechtips.com 390 or 970" and virtually every thread for the last two months will be nothing but 390 recommendations or vast majority 390 rec's.

Get a 380x if that is an option in your country.

I also notice this, the 390 being a little bit cheaper makes it a better choice for me.

Just so you know Just Cause 3 runs very poorly on AMD, so if you don't already have the game I wouldn't get it if you're getting a 390 or 380x.
