Hello folks!

Today I found a Gigabyte GTX 980ti 6gb "cheap" so I decided to bought it. But I have an importat question, my current CPU is an Intel Core i7 2700k @ 3.7ghz so will it cause any type of bottleneck? Also if you can explain how to know if a high end GPU will cause or not a botteneck depending on your CPU will also help!

Any help is really appreciated. :)

Whether your CPU will emerge as a bottleneck depends on what's going on minute-by-minute in the specific game you're playing. It only indirectly has anything to do with your video card. You cannot tell accurately if you will find a bottleneck just looking at a list of hardware. In Cities: Skylines you'll eventually find a CPU bottleneck almost no matter what CPU you have, whereas in Tomb Raider you could seemingly use a Core 2 Duo and be fine, and there's a lot in between.

In general, an i7-2600K is still a fine gaming CPU.

High overclocks and high speed memory will give your CPU a nice boost, so you don't need to worry about a noticeable bottleneck.

OC your CPU more (if you can) and throw in some faster ram (or OC what you got), which will help. You'll be fine for some time yet. ;)
