So I just watched the HOLY $H!T - Long Distance Wi-Fi (Up to 25 KILOMETER range!?) video and this would be a good solution for where I like. We live down a dirt road and at&t wont put line down the road but they will at the head of the road. Would this work OK for gaming like Minecraft And some racing games? Because sattelite internet sucks.

were would you hook up the first satellite to you need to hook it to a POE port and you will basically have to build a shed for them to install the internet to.

it doesn't work like that i'm afraid. it requires a broadband internet connection to be connected to one satellite and the other satellite to receive the internet on the other end in which you can connect your devices to.

yes but you would need you modem and router to be connected to the first tower.

I know that but I'm going over the simple things not. So basically have the first connection and it goes through the network stuff then it goes into the tower and go to the other and so on

If you have ALL of the following things, then long distance wifi can work for you:

  • Power and an internet source at one location (sounds like at the edge of your property where AT&T is willing to provide service)
  • A small waterproof enclosure for the modem and POE injector at that location
  • Power at another location (your house)
  • Clear line of sight between the two - some small branches or fences or whatnot are okay, but if your road has a bend and there are thick trees on either side of it then it won't work. Also if you have any electrified fences in between, even if not directly in line of site, they *may* cause interference.

Yes, this would probably max ad 5-10ms to the latency, which is no problem :)

Is this road on your private property or does your property line run parallel to it up to the point they will bring a connection? I ask this because my uncle lives in the Texas hill country and they would bring the line to his gate. But the cost for him to have them bring it further was very high, so he laid his own cable which they then connected. He had to make sure they would allow that but it turned out to be a fairly common solution out there. If the cable is not an option and this is not your own private road you may need to check into what is allowed by local ordinance. Beyond that if you can get line of sight between the two points this should work. I would also take a rough measure of the distance and see if their cheaper options are more suitable. They seem to have options for just about any distance and need you can think of.
