Question for you fellow techies and geeks like me,

I've been practicing in the field of IT and Maintenance. And I've been dismantling, destroying, and repairing computers for nearly 8 years now, since I was back at my wee tyke age, and have gotten into the field of IT Maintenance and Repair.

I do know a lot of the basics to IT, such as the MMC console, adwcleaner for the random hijacks, hardware repair and replacement (Please, I can tell you after numerous hard-drive replacements on a HP 15.6 R132WM model, it's nailed in my head, along with complete disassemblies and rebuilds of the older, more picky computers,) and many more things. But you guys seem to know knowledge that extends beyond any branch of CompTIA A+ Certification, so here's the question.

Where do I look for the stuff you men and women look at to grab all this knowledge? What have you done, specifically, how did you do it? Where did you go to find all this juicy, raw information that just leaks out from an intelligent show like LTT? It'd be great to know, as I wanted to train in this career to be a IT manager for so long.

And yes, part of that dream did include helping Linus and his folks until I realized just how much of a brawny brain he is in IT.

"Aw shucks, man. If ya hadn't a put that thing there, ya might not'a messed it up!"

>"Well where's the problem?"

"'Tween the Computer and the Chair. Error ID-Ten-T, I call it."

>"I don't get it."

Not 100% sure what you are asking,  but i mostly learned stuff because i like learning,  and i like tech,  so i just do everything i can to learn more,  i watch tech channels like ltt,  jaystwocents etc. .

Google is your friend.  You have a question ?  A thirst for knowledge (KNAWLEDGE ) ?

Just spend time reading about it.

But you have to really like the stuff or i can imagine you get bored quickly.

I've spent time taking computers apart, rebuilding them, making mistakes (and therefore damage) and stuff.

I'm sure I have a CompTIA qualification somewhere. It's very easy if you have the right technical mind. It's all about being able to solve problems as they arise, and being able to install software and answer the occasionally tough multiple choice question.

What I'm trying to say is, if you're interested in computers you probably already have the only requirement you need to almost certify your chances of getting the qualification.
