Hey all, so I need a decent psu to replace my old one. It needs to be 650W+, and I don't mind if it's modular or not. I have a budget of £65. Trusted sellers only please

I'd suggest the SeaSonic M12II EVO
Antec High Current Gamer
EVGA G2/GS/GQ
Corsair RMx
XFX TS

With a budget of £65, you have very little choice. Corsair CX750 is just about the only option.

Depending on your system, it might be a better idea to go for lower wattage but higher quality. Otherwise you might want to try stretching the budget a little. An Antec TPC650 at £70-75 would be nice.

In my build I currently have an EVGA 500W one, and my gpu crashes as it's not powerful enough. So I need to up the wattage.

Get this. The issue is not wattage, it's quality.

The 8 quid will make a world of difference. That's easily doable.

Can you expand on that? Like how you associated a GPU crash with a PSU issue? I mean it could have crashed due to a driver issue.

Also, can you provide your specification? Seeing how you only have a 500w, it would mean that you are powering a single GPU card, in which most setup can be power by a quality 550w.

I already provided a better option in case he CAN up the budget a little. But if £65 is a hard limit and 650W is a hard minimum, then your suggestion is doubly disqualified.

My gpu kept crashing, sent it back and got a replacement, still happened, ran a memory diagnostic and it didn't solve it. The gpu only crashed when it started drawing more power. My case also takes up some power too I believe as it has LED and fans. My gpu is a GeForce GTX 750ti. It's not my motherboard as I've tried got a new motherboard too

With a GTX 750 Ti, 500W is more than plenty.

As you can see, the Asus GTX 750 Ti draw only 74wDC max by itself during Furmark. Personally, I had powered a GTX 680 with an OCed 2600k on a quality 450w for a few years; albeit it's a much better quality power supply than your EVGA 500B, but it isn't so bad that it would cause your current system to crash at such a load. So if it is an issue with the PSU, then it is simply defective.

May I asked, are you using any sort of adapters / extension cables? If so, try plugging in your system using only the original PSU cables. The 500B has two 6+2 pin PEG connector. See if plugging in the other one would help. If there's a poor contact in the connection, there may be a larger voltage drop on them, and that may what be causing the stability issue.

But the aforementioned, SF GG HX 550w and XFX Core Edition 450w would be good for your system. The Delta build, Antec VPF450 would be a good choice as well.

It's not a particularly good PSU but it should have no trouble powering 4 750tis so something is defective in your unit. Ask EVGA for a replacement unit if you can.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I realised this just now, I've gotten replacements on half the things in the pc without even thinking about the psu. If I send it back and get a replacement would the cut it? Or should I get a different psu?

I mean, it's not a great PSU so you could definitely benefit from an upgrade. Check out the PSU whitelist in my signature for some options. A Seasonic S12 would be a good option.

While that is much better than the EVGA 500B, it seems like poor value compared to any of the power supplies I've linked in this thread.

Yeah I would say you might as well go for the upgrade when you're already having to send the unit back. If it was in the system and running smoothly it would be more tempting to just skip the hassle of replacing it.

I mean I'm talking to you now using the pc, but I can't put any pressure on the gpu otherwise it crashes
