Hello, I currently have an 980 from EVGA.

Somewhere down the line, might even be this summer I probably will upgrade.

So I have two options in the way I see it.

Another 980 and run them in SLI or maybe get an 980ti.

What are your opinions?

Wait for Pascal or Polaris cards. Normally it would be fine to NOT wait, but this year they're changing not only the nanometer process, but the VRAM too.

It's been a few years since they've changed these things. It may be a few months out now, but at the same time, if you're buying a GPU this year, it's going to be worth the wait.

Edit: Even if you didn't wanna get these new cards, I am sure the 980 will drop in price at least so you can slap another one in there.

I don't really think you need an upgrade. You've already got 1 980.

Just think: "Do I really need this, will it make my gaming experience better?" "Am I putting this in my build because I want to upgrade my experience? Or am I doing it because I'm addicted to putting it in my computer"

If you answered yes, that it will make your whole experience better, my suggestion is to get another 980 and run them in SLI

If you realized you don't need it, don't buy it.

Don't fall into this trap. You've already got a very high-end GPU.

Definitely wait as whatever happens, you're gonna get better off either with a newly launched GPU or a GPU that dropped in price quite heavily. everybody must remember how much r9 2xx prices dropped when the r9 3xx series launched (I just remember seeing 290/290x for prices of a 380)

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Maybe I should wait then. I'd have to consider both options.

I think it's a little bit of column A and a little bit of column B. My computer is my hobby. No doubt about it. But I do run a 1440p monitor that has 144hz, it would be nice to push the FPS over 80.

I'll keep an eye on it then!

Yeah, get another 980 if you've got a 144Hz monitor.
