Build Advice

[Xaptik]

I have this build and I wanted to know if it's pretty solid. Anything I can do to make it cheaper without sacrificing power? I thought about using the MSI Z97 PC Mate rather than the Krait Edition board. Didn't see a lot of quality reviews on YouTube for the PC Mate. I'll probably keep the GPU because I get a copy of Hitman with it from Newegg.

Actually, Jay mentioned in his latest video that the MSI Krait Edition has issues with overclocking. So there's that

that was in regard to the AMD 970A version. I love my Z97S Krait though. It looks great, has expansion, and houses all my hardware perfectly

Massive. You can start the computer in seconds, you can load things almost instantly...I'll never go back to an HDD based system. Actually, I've decided to never add an HDD to my system again. All future builds will be SSD only, with an external array for mass storage.

Older models, and only with AMD chips that are overclocked....not exactly the same thing.

Anything stored on the SSD will boot faster. If Windows has to search your SSD for files during boot, it will slow down.

Windows. Plus your favorite games, if you have space.

 

You need to make sure to move My Documents and My Pictures and such to the HDD, since windows will stick those on the disk it's installed on by default.
