CPU showdown

Ok guys, Im parted between the next CPU for my system. This is between the i7-4790K and the i7-5820K. I would need a motherboard for each, and won't have much money. If i got the 5820K I would also need new RAM. What would be better? I do lots of internet browsing, very light video editing, and some gaming (i will have a R9 390 by then). I really want the extra cores of the 5820K but I don't really need them. I also like overclocking, so that changes what motherboard and CPU I get.  So, what would be better for my money? Can you pick me a good motherboard for both that is about about $200 (preferably $150) that is black or black and blue for the 4790K? (I already have one for the 5820K I like)

The 5820k has a better upgrade path and should overall last longer.

OK thanks. The only downside is it will be about $200 more. Is that worth it

If 2011-V3 lasts, it should be. You wouldn't need a new motherboard to get a better CPU.

Have you considered the 6700K?

Price will decrease in the future, and Z170 boards aren't that expensive.

Yeah. More cores sounds more appealing, and yes the price will go down on the 6700K but it probably also will on the 5820K. It wont be for another 6 or so months though, so time will tell

Then you should wait for Zen...

Zen should be released/announced around that time.

Lets see what happens, because if anything Zen will bring Intel prices down
