Did I make a mistake buying this monitor? (Asus MG279Q)

AstroBenny

So I didn't want to spend TOO much on a gaming monitor and I just purchased the Asus MG279Q Free-sync 144Hz IPS 1440P display although

I have an Nvidia GPU :P

No other monitors seemed to provide these features in this price range.

I know it doesn't have GSYNC but I think I'll be alright without..

Why are these monitors so bloody darn expensive anyway?

£50 more and I'd have a fully fledged 50 inch 4K TV...

I don't like 2D games...I just couldn't get into them.. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

50 inch 4k TV will look like complete shit if you use it as a monitor.

40 inch 4K is 100 ppi, that's bare minimum for text

You are basically paying for the high refresh rate. Linus actually made a video about this very topic.

do you have/had 4k TV?

I have it, 43''

i can't see the pixels even if i smash my head into screen

i meant to have my old 23'' 1080p monitor as second display because i heard people saying that 4k TVs are impossible for internet browsing... but i got rid of that monitor, because TV is perfect for everything

I bought that exact monitor and returned it the next day.  Severe back light bleed turned me off.  I dont know what to look for now, Ill just use my crappy old 1080p TN minitor until something right hits the market.
