Picky boyfriend looking for a monitor. Help me find the best deal?

FoxxyRin

My boyfriend's birthday is next week, and I'm looking into getting him a monitor. However, he's pretty darn picky.

  • 1080p is a must, 1440p would be great if possible
  • OVER 60Hz
  • $250-ish or less
  • Somewhere in the 20-24" range
  • Under 3ms delay

Right now, it looks like the ACER GN246HL is going to be one of the cheapest options, but I'm not all that familiar with monitors/displays, so I'm unsure if there's a better one on the market that's cheaper, or if there's one that's 1440p and not much more. All help is very much appreciated. :)

BenQ XL2411Z sounds like it may be a good choice.

Also, a note on "under 3ms delay". Most monitors will not state their input delay. I'm assuming you mean the response time, but that is how long it takes pixels to change colour, not how quickly a monitor responds to an input. Just a heads up that response time statistics are pretty much entirely useless.

I'll definitely look into that one as well. I've seen a lot of people praise BenQ despite not being one of the bigger names like ASUS, Acer, etc. I also really like how adjustable it looks.

I used to mock them as some off brand but ya I use benqs on 2 of 3 of my displays..it would of been 3 of 3 but longstory short I had to get the 3rd one ASAP and couldnt get a 2411z or 2420TE locally at the time.

Response time is what I meant, I'm pretty sure, haha~ I'm so used to using laptops and/or TVs as my display that I've never looked into specs and such that much, so this department slightly goes over my head.

benq is the number one gaming monitor manufacturer. then it's asus. (asus sells more displays though)
