My FX6300 was able to go to 4.6GHz on 1.41 volts stable on a Cooler Master Seidon 120v. It all depends on the chip you get :P

First of all you need to tell us what motherboard you have (and what cooler as well). To answer one of your questions, the one regarding the 4.2 Ghz overclock, it depends on each person's luck, some draw less power to overclock some draw more.

We have no idea. It really depends on your chip. What motherboard do you have?

I dont own the pc yet, but im buying the half parts from micro center, and the other half(not in micro center) from amazon as soon as i get home today from school.

I will be buying the MSI 970 Gaming atx Motherboard

I have good knowledge about overclocking and pc parts PCs and im a gamer.

but for the past years I've been gaming on a laptop, which is not useful for me anymore.

its the time i decided to build a gaming tower and show it off :D

Do yourself a favor and get an intel CPU.

The FX6300 is a fair CPU. Will it break benchmark scores? No but it'll give you a solid gaming experience. I've had that CPU before and it worked well for me

Yep, I can confirm that I personally achieved 4.2Ghz on a MSI 970 gaming motherboard with stock cooler and stock voltage. I stressed it and STABLE!

Dont listen to @Alexokan on this one, Although Intel CPUS are good, this CPU is more than enough for gaming and almost anything you throw at it. Certain you wont regret it.
